Senior takes plea for drug transportation

KINGMAN – A Kingman man arrested in a fentanyl seizure faces a possible prison sentence after entering a plea agreement during an April 10 hearing at the Mohave County Law and Justice Center. Arthur Kerns, 70, is convicted of a charge reduced to attempted transportation of a narcotic drug for sale.

Deputy Mohave County Attorney James Gilmore said Kerns was the driver officers contacted during an Oct. 24, 2025 traffic stop in the 1000 block of Beale St. in Kingman. He said more than 24 grams of fentanyl was confiscated and that Kerns would drive to Las Vegas to secure drugs for sale.

Kerns is eligible for probation, but can also get up to 2.5 years in prison when sentenced by Judge Billy Sipe on May 11.
