KINGMAN – A mother’s disclosure that her teenage daughter was having sex with a male adult led to the May 15 arrest of Dakota Demay, 27, Kingman. Deputy Kingman Police Chief Joel Freed said Demay was booked into the Adult Detention Facility for multiple felony offenses including sexual conduct with a minor, sexual abuse, child molestation and sexual exploitation of a minor.
“Through the investigation, officers and detectives developed evidence indicating there had been multiple incidents involving the suspect and victim over the previous three weeks,” Freed said. “Investigators subsequently located Demay at a nearby apartment, where he was taken into custody without incident.”
Freed said Demay subsequently admitted involvement in the charged offenses.
“The 14-year-old victim was transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center for precautionary medical care and support services,” Freed said.
The case remains under investigation.
