County begins online permit process

MOHAVE COUNTY – A long awaited shift in the process of submitting applications for county permits is now up and running. County residents can now submit applications electronically, and receive communication back from the county electronically, as well. This will resolve any need to come directly into the county offices to submit applications and plans.

Online permitting is a major benefit to county residents, especially those in more rural areas not near a county office. Individuals can now submit applications for smaller projects such as hot water heater replacements, as well as large commercial structures, and all projects in between.

Customers can now go to the county’s website at www.mohave.gov , then click the “I want to” menu, and then click the menu option: “Apply for a Permit.” The Development Services Department will be providing in-person training very soon and more information will be provided when that date is set.

Development Services Director Tim Walsh says, “we are really excited about this permitting system to take in plans and applications. It will be a great benefit in making government more accessible to our customers, saving them time and money.”  He also points out that “additionally it will allow us to better manage our workloads in being able to share plans with reviewers and stakeholders simultaneously, expediting the time it takes to review.”
