FORT MOHAVE — The Colorado River Corvette Club (CRCC) recently gathered to present three local organizations with $1,500 in donations. The charity donations were presented at the Colorado River Corvette Club General Meeting, held on November 15 at Los Lagos Golf Resort in Fort Mohave.
CRCC has donated to various charitable programs relating to veterans, animals, homeless, children and youth programs, law enforcement, elderly and the environment.
This year, three organizations were chosen that each received $1,500.
Mohave County K9 Foundation
Comprising specially trained deputies and canines (police dogs), this unit conducts patrols, responds to calls for service, and provides critical support when called upon.
The foundation’s mission is to provide financial support for the Sheriff’s Canine Unit and its volunteers, and to promote community relations to area businesses, organizations and individuals. Supported “only” by private donations, each dollar helps to maintain, vaccinate, feed and train these wonderful dogs to fight crime, protect their handlers, and protect the public.
The K9 unit is frequently utilized during felony apprehensions, narcotic searches, and to locate missing persons and suspects.
Saving Animals In Need Together (SAINT)
SAINT is a 501 C-3 nonprofit animal welfare organization. Their mission is to improve the lives of animals through programs which help rehabilitate and re-home unwanted pets through loving volunteers and foster homes.
The organization serves as a resource to help keep unwanted pets out of shelters and to help limit local overpopulation through community programs and education. SAINT is dedicated to helping homeless pets find their forever-loving homes.
Keepers Of The Wild — Valentine, Arizona
Keepers of the Wild’s mission is to protect abused, neglected and abandoned captive wildlife by providing a permanent sanctuary, offering the best standard of care, and enforcing humane treatment through education and public awareness.
The organization also seeks to eliminate the exploitation of wild animals in show business and as pets. They offer a permanent home and high-quality care for animals rescued from abusive or neglectful situations.
Keepers of the Wild President Jonathan Kraft and Vice President Lara Kraft were unable to attend the presentation in person.
