Cocaine, firearms seized in Havasu drug bust

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Lake Havasu City police report seizures and two arrests resulting from investigation of suspected drug sale activity. Officers stopped separate vehicles leaving a home under surveillance on Wednesday, March 20.

Police Sergeant Kyle Ridgway said Maddison Hernandez, 20, was arrested during the first traffic stop for possessing about one gram of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. The second stop produced the seizure of almost 15 grams of cocaine, and the arrest of Steven Swaim, 67.

Detectives next executed a search warrant at Swaim’s residence in the 4100 block of Calimesa Drive.

“Investigators located approximately one-quarter pound of cocaine, three firearms, a usable amount of psilocybin mushrooms and drug paraphernalia consistent with the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics,” Ridgway said.

Hernandez was released on her own recognizance, while Swaim was booked into the Adult Detention Facility in Kingman for possession of narcotic drugs for sale, a firearms offense and other charges.
