BULLHEAD CITY – Republic Services sponsored another Christmas event last Saturday at Anderson Auto Group Fieldhouse. Titled North Pole Adventure, this event was purely for the kids, and hundreds of them and their parents showed up all day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to ride some of the biggest best holiday rides ever seen at the now iconic Fieldhouse.
Dozens of gigantic inflatable funhouses adorned the entire floor of the massive fieldhouse from one end to the other offering kids of all ages more than ample choices for a fun filled Christmas themed day.
There were also mechanical rides such as the Tilt-A-Whirl, a Ferris Wheel, and even a bungee display where bungee tethered kids could bounce 20 feet into the air off a trampoline floor.
Outside the Fieldhouse there was a petting zoo complete with a live camel for the kids to view as well as a penned in large group of petting animals ranging from a miniature horse, baby piglets, chicks and ducks.
The front of the Fieldhouse was lined with food trucks serving every manner of edible delights and a large eating area set up with Christmas coloring books for the kids to enjoy while dining.
Christmas themed arts and crafts were for sale on the entry level of the Fieldhouse for Christmas gifts and a full staff of volunteer kids from local High Schools were on hand manning the concession stand with food provided by DOT Foods.
The day-long event boasted live performances all day as well with many singers performing the Classic Christmas songs and a local troupe of classic Mexican dancers performing Folklorico dances in traditional garb.
Yet another holiday event provided for the kids by local merchants in Bullhead City which has seen a massive rise in such outings as the city continues to grow and invest in its civic infrastructure.
Another such event coming up on December 21 is the annual X-Mas on the River boat parade where Christmas themed boats form a parade line and traverse the Colorado from south to the Laughlin Bridge on the north end and back. That event runs from 5 to 7 p.m. with refreshments served on both sides of the river.
