Pummeling and robbing a suspected snitch and later possessing more than a usable amount of heroin will result in a trip to the Arizona Department of Corrections for a Bullhead City man. A four year prison sentence is mandated in a plea agreement entered on April 23 for Jonathan Chades, 30.
Chades pleaded guilty to robbery and possession of narcotic drugs for sale.
Prosecutor Greg McPhillips said it was December 26, 2018 when Chades and two co-defendants confronted a man they believed to be an informant in the 700 block of Hancock Road. He said Chades punched and kicked the man and fled after stealing his shoes, phone, watch and wallet.
The victim reportedly suffered a gash over an eyebrow that required stitches to close.
McPhillips said Chades possessed more than 6 grams of heroin when he was arrested after the violent encounter, but on the same day. Sentencing is scheduled May 29.
