MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave County Treasurer Cindy Landa Cox is stepping down. Cox intended to retire at the end of her term but has informed the Board of Supervisors and County Management team that serious health issues prompt her resignation effective Dec. 31, 2021. “It has been an honor and pleasure to represent the citizens of Mohave County for the last 9 years,” Cox said in her resignation notice. LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Lake Havasu City Police Department was awarded a $27,819.00 grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) for conducting increased traffic enforcement operations and to purchase five (5) directional radar units. This will be for the 2021-2022 federal fiscal year, which runs from Oct. 1, 2021, to Sept. 30, 2022. KINGMAN – The City of Kingman is apparently losing its Fire Chief. The City of Buckeye is hiring Jake Rhoades to join its fire department administration, currently in an interim chief posture. Information, at this point, is not available through Rhoades or City Hall. However, the public information officer for Buckeye confirms a Rhoades hiring scenario is in play.
