Vaughan trial underway

KINGMAN – Trial began Monday for a Kingman man charged with a variety of sex offenses involving two Kingman boys under the age of 15. Defense attorney Greg Pridham told a Mohave County Superior Court jury that Alexander Vaughan is innocent and should be acquitted of child molestation and eight counts of sexual conduct with a minor. Local teachers awarded $2,500 through  Palo Verde Fiesta Bowl Charities Wishes for Teachers program

 In its annual tradition to honor, support and celebrate Arizona’s educators, Fiesta Bowl Charities has granted 500 teachers–including 16 Mohave County teachers–with $2,500 each during the Palo Verde Fiesta Bowl Charities Wishes for Teachers Draft Day presented by SRP, for a total of $1.25 million.  In its eighth year, the Palo Verde Fiesta Bowl Charities Wishes for Teachers program increased its giving by 25% to Arizona K-12 public and charter schoolteachers. The funding will positively impact more than 220,000 students across 73 cities and towns statewide, with 368 different schools receiving grant awards. Teen charged with violence at hospital

KINGMAN – Kingman police report the arrest of a teenage patient who became unruly and violent at Kingman Regional Medical Center. Police Chief Rusty Cooper said the incident occurred in the KRMC Emergency Department at 3:25 a.m. on Nov. 16. Cooper said the 17-year-old male was verbally abusive while being treated for a high level of alcohol intoxication. He said the teen head butted a security guard and a physician’s assistant who were treated for their injuries. Cooper said once stabilized, the teen was arrested and booked into juvenile detention for two counts of aggravated assault.
