No one was hurt during an Easter Sunday fire in north Kingman. Personnel from the Northern Arizona Consolidated Fire District (NACFD) responded at 4:38 p.m. to the incident in the 3100 block of East Packard Avenue. “Firefighters arrived to find a single wide mobile residence with an attached Arizona room with smoke and fire venting from the roof,” a news release stated. “There were two occupants at the time and everyone escaped without injury.” Battalion Chief Don Dallman said it took crews about 20 minutes to knock down the fire before extensive mop up operations were conducted. A second defendant in a double homicide entered a plea agreement that will send him to prison for more than a decade. Jose Eduardo Vizcara, 29, Bullhead City, is convicted of two counts of kidnapping while first degree murder, body abandonment, theft, unlawful flight and drug-related charges are dismissed. Prosecutor Jaimye Ashley, during an April 19 hearing, said both murder victims were herded into a bedroom of a Bullhead City home where they were interrogated in January, 2018. The Mohave Community College Board of Governors invites all college employees, students and community members to meet the four finalists in the nationwide search for the next college president.
