The Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) has posted the 2019-20 Arizona Hunting Regulations online at www.azgfd.gov/draw. The department now is accepting paper applications for 2019 hunt permit-tags issued through the draw process for deer, fall turkey, fall javelina, bighorn sheep, fall bison and sandhill crane. Note: In a significant change, this will be the first time that applications will be accepted as part of the fall draw process for sandhill crane. The City of Kingman received regulatory approvals from the Arizona State Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ), crews are finished with work on tie-ins. Crews are completing miscellaneous concrete work, and removing the old fire hydrants, as well as finishing up with the culvert work. With the completion of the water main and culvert, crews are preparing for the mill and overlay work on Stockton Hill Road that will begin next Monday, May 6. Crews plan to mill and re-pave Stockton Hill Road between Airway Ave. and Gordon Drive. In an effort to streamline customer service, the City of Kingman Planning and Zoning Department will be open 7am-6pm, Monday through Thursday, and closed on Fridays. The new hours will begin Monday, May 6.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) announced that it is seeking public nominations for positions on 31 Resource Advisory Councils (RACs) nationwide, including Arizona’s RAC. These citizen-based committees assist in the development of recommendations that address public land management issues. The BLM maintains 38 such advisory committees formally chartered under the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) and the Federal Policy and Land Management Act (FLPMA) across the West. Of those committees, 31 are RACs and the remainder site or subject-specific Advisory Councils. The Department of the Interior will conduct a second Macroinvertebrate Production Flow this summer at Glen Canyon Dam under its Long-Term Experimental and Management Plan. This experiment, also known as a Bug Flow, aims to improve egg-laying conditions for aquatic insects that are the primary food source for fish in the Colorado River.
