All city offices and Havasu mobility are closed this Friday, April 19, in observance of Good Friday. As always, police and fire personnel are on duty, however, administrative offices are closed. Trash and recycling services are not interrupted. The Aquatic Center pool is open for exercise and lap swim from 5:00am to 1:00pm, and the After School Program is open from 2:30pm to 6:00pm. All City offices resume normal schedules on Monday, April 22.
Kingman’s semi-annual wastewater collections contractor will perform hydro-vac cleaning of various diameter conveyance lines over the next two weeks. The maintenance will be performed at various locations within Kingman and the county, including high traffic areas such as the Stockton Hill Road corridor, Airway Avenue, and Andy Devine Ave. The vehicles associated with the maintenance performed will be two tanker-style utility trucks – either white, white & blue, or red in color. The contractor performing the work is Simons Sewer Cleaning, and should finish the maintenance within about two weeks.
The Anderson Auto Group Fieldhouse will officially open to the public on May 3, with ceremonies showing off the facility’s different capabilities. An investigation is underway after five inmates suffered medical emergencies following suspected drug overdoses at the Mohave County Adult Detention Center in Kingman Tuesday. Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said detention officers responded just before 7:00 p.m. to a medical emergency in a male housing unit within the jail. “In a very short period of time, officers and jail nurses were providing emergency treatment to a total of five inmates whose condition and symptoms all appeared as a drug overdose,” Mortensen said. “All five inmates were treated with doses of Narcan, a drug commonly used to reverse the effects of…
The Mohave County Sheriff’s office has issued a surveillance system image hoping citizens might help identify a woman considered a subject of interest in a burglary investigation. The probe was initiated on April 5 when a man told authorities he had been informed that his home in the 5200 block of S. Taxi Way in Mohave Valley was burgled while he was out of town. “It is estimated that over $30,000 worth of items were removed from the residence,” Mortensen said.
