Three arrested in sexual predator sting

MOHAVE COUNTY – Three more suspects have been arrested in a Mohave County Sheriff’s Office sting operation targeting sexual predators of minor children. The defendants charged with sexual exploitation of a minor related offenses are identified as Gregory Schutte and Michael Shaw, 29 and both of Kingman and Daniel Saguchi-Cazares, 26, Fort Mohave. Oatman amusement park: Zoning commission give nod despite merchant protest

OATMAN – A number of merchants in the historic mining town of Oatman oppose a western flavored enterprise proposed by an Aztec, New Mexico businessman. Tim McCarthy wants to develop “The Old 66 Ranch” about one mile outside of Oatman. “I’m looking at putting in a small western town with horseback rides,” McCarthy said during the January 8 meeting of the Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission. “We’re putting in a zip line. Accused coach arrested for sexual misconduct

BULLHEAD CITY – A volunteer assistant wrestling coach has been arrested following an investigation of alleged sexual conduct with female student wrestlers at Mohave High School. Bullhead City police department spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said the probe involving Deven Brenden Lobato, 20, began January 23. “Detectives discovered that in the months of September and October, 2019, Lobato had reportedly engaged in a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old female athlete,” a news release stated. “It was reported that the sexual conduct did not occur on school property.” Lobato was arrested and booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Center on January 24….

Veteran’s Resource Fair was well attended

KINGMAN – More than 20 volunteers assisted area veterans at the JAVC Veterans Resource Fair, held last weekend at the Kingman Elks Lodge. Some 41 vendors and resource agencies were on hand to offer assistance to veterans experiencing difficulties with medical, vision, employment, homelessness, and other social problems. Attending veterans were offered a hot meal, care packages containing MREs and toiletries, and personalized assistance.
