KINGMAN – A command staff member of the Kingman Police Department (KPD) is fighting for his job. City officials confirm that Police Lt. Danny Reed was notified that his employment was terminated on Dec. 20. City representatives indicated they were unable to provide information sought through a Public Records request given confidentiality that applies to personnel matters. Reed also declines comment at this time, but there is indication that some details may surface in the future. Reed is reportedly using a police association lawyer to pursue an appeal of his termination. Reed began his KPD career in Dec., 2005.

KINGMAN – The Kingman Police Department (KPD) would like to notify citizens and visitors of a current trend involving stolen vehicles. In the past six months KPD has responded to 30 thefts of Kia or Hyundai vehicles.  With any vehicle KPD encourages you to make sure your vehicle is locked, think about using a steering wheel or brake pedal locking device and if possible park in a well-lit area. Criminals often target vehicles they have easy access to, remove all valuables from your vehicles and make sure they are locked.  The Kingman Police Department in coordination with the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office…

GOLDEN VALLEY – The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) is trying to determine who is responsible for a hit-and-run pedestrian fatality in Golden Valley on Tuesday, Jan. 2. Deputies responded at 7:41 p.m. to a report of a male subject lying in the roadway at the corner of Chino Dr. and Adobe Rd. MCSO spokesman Anita Mortensen said James Douglas McDaniel, 69, Golden Valley, was dead at the scene.
