LAKE HAVASU CITY – On Saturday, Feb. 1, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Division of Boating Safety responded to a reported boat fire in the middle of the North Basin on Lake Havasu. According to an MCSO spokesperson, the three boat occupants had made it onto other boats that were in the area, and were not injured. Deputies, utilizing their patrol boat outboard motors, were able to extinguish the fire. The boat was salvaged by a local tow company. LAKE HAVASU CITY – On Saturday, February 8, McCulloch Boulevard is closed for the Annual Winterfest Street Festival, from Acoma Boulevard to Smoketree Avenue, beginning at 2:30 a.m., and reopens at 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 9. The hours of the Winterfest event are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 8 and from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 9. KINGMAN – A driver was taken to a medical facility following a head-on collision on Saturday, Feb. 1. The accident occurred in the area of Jagerson Ave. and Van Nuys Rd. According to a Mohave County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, a white Dodge truck with a box trailer and an older model Ford truck blocked both lanes of traffic and both vehicles sustained heavy damage. The cab of the Ford truck had been crushed inwards, pinning the driver inside.
