Former U.S. Marine corporal, Vietnam veteran and Golden Valley resident John Hoeft displays the quilt with attendees of the Community Organization of Meadview (COM) after receiving a gift from the Meadview Red, White and Blue Quilters. Many military veterans attended the COM meeting to witness Hoeft receive his quilt and “little prayer pillow” for his three years of military service in the Marines and his tour of duty in Khe Sahn, Vietnam, during TET of 1968. Local citizen starts fundraiser for LHC K-9

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Barbara Cross, a Lake Havasu City resident, has organized a fundraiser and is looking for the community’s support to fund a K-9 program for the Lake Havasu City Police Department. These funds will be solely dedicated to the LHCPD’s K-9 program and are used for the purchase of the dog, training and equipment. The initiative was jump started by multiple community members wanting to support the police department by donating money to a K-9 program.
