Boaters safety evacuated from blaze

LAKE HAVASU CITY – On Saturday, Feb. 1, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Division of Boating Safety responded to a reported boat fire in the middle of the North Basin on Lake Havasu. According to an MCSO spokesperson, the three boat occupants had made it onto other boats that were in the area, and were not injured. Deputies, utilizing their patrol boat outboard motors, were able to extinguish the fire. The boat was salvaged by a local tow company. Temporary closure of McCulloch Boulevard for Winterfest Street Festival

LAKE HAVASU CITY – On Saturday, February 8, McCulloch Boulevard is closed for the Annual Winterfest Street Festival, from Acoma Boulevard to Smoketree Avenue, beginning at 2:30 a.m., and reopens at 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 9. The hours of the Winterfest event are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 8 and from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 9. Please exercise additional caution when traveling in these areas, and pay special attention to all signage, markings, volunteers and law enforcement.
