Havasu celebrates 10th Balloon Fest

Lake Havasu held their 10th Annual Hot Air Balloon Festival on January 9 through 12, and even though the weather was a chilly 40 degrees all weekend, it was a great sight to see. Although some of the balloons couldn’t lift off the ground due to high winds, every guest got to see the colorful and giant balloons blow up at sunrise. The late Frank X. Gordon Jr.’s comment about the impeachment of President Bill Clinton more than 20 years ago is timeless as it holds true today in the instance of President Donald Trump. “They’re really not legal proceedings,” Gordon said of impeachment. “They are political proceedings.” The man who grew up in Kingman and served the Arizona Supreme Court from 1975 to 1992 was Chief Justice when he presided over the impeachment trial of former Governor Evan Mecham in 1988. Petsmart helps shelter find homes for Kingman pets.

KINGMAN –  On Jan 11, the Friends of Mohve County Animal Shelter hosted its semi-regular Kingman Petsmart Dog Adoptions, at the Petsmart on Stockton Hill Rd. The event was hosted inside the Petsmart building, where customers were allowed to view a sample of dogs for potential adoption. The animal adoptions are an ongoing event according to shelter manager/supervisor Nicole Manigiameli, with the shelter hoping to be at Petsmart every weekend if they can. Manigiameli, thanked Petsmart for their assistance, citing them as a contributing factor to ongoing adoptions.
