DOC takes steps to protect inmates from COVID-19

As part of the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry response to the evolving CDC guidelines regarding face coverings, ADCRR will be distributing fabric face coverings to all employees over the next few days. On Friday, the CDC recommended that essential staff wear non-medical (non-PPE) cloth face coverings to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID19. The face coverings are being made by inmates at Perryville, Douglas, and Florence complexes through the Arizona Correctional Industries (ACI) garment program, which has been in operation for more than 30 years. The department is making enough so each employee will receive two face coverings….

Only three Mohave County races are contested in the August 4 primary election. The largest field of prospective candidates submitted nominating petitions to succeed retiring District 1 supervisor Gary Watson. The District 1 hopefuls include Jim Hamersley, Tim Woods, Travis Lingenfelter, Becky Foster, Sherri Merriwether and Gerarda Hamodey. COVID-19 number grows in county; 22 cases confirmed

Mohave County 1 Death is Included MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ (April 7, 2020) – There are now 22 positive COVID-19 cases in the county. The latest is a Lake Havasu City service area individual, an adult in the 50-64 age range, who is currently isolated at home. Nurses will begin the contact investigation as soon as possible. Until the investigation is conducted, it is yet to be determined if this may be a travel-related case, or if epidemiologically-linked to another identified case. KINGMAN – Kingman Mayor Jen Miles is unopposed for re-election. No one but Miles submitted nominating petitions to attempt to qualify their candidacy for Mayor by Monday’s filing deadline.
