KINGMAN – Mayor Jen Miles is calling for civility, respect and tolerance as Kingman area residents debate everything from COVID-19 restrictions to the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement. Miles said she is thankful that recent BLM demonstrations at Locomotive Park downtown were mostly peaceful and without injury. And the Mayor hopes it remains that way. COVID-19 update: 41 new cases, four deaths

MOHAVE COUNTY – Late Wednesday afternoon, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified of 41 new COVID-19 confirmed cases, two of which are deaths not reported before, plus two deaths from previous cases. The two deaths from previous cases are a 30-39 year old person in the Lake Havasu City service area and a 90+ individual in the Bullhead City area. The two deaths from the new cases are an 80-89 person in the Kingman area and a 90+ person in the Bullhead City area. Of the 39 remaining new cases, 17 are in the Bullhead City…

KINGMAN – Sounds of Kingman will continue its Concert in the Park series on Sunday, June 28 with Arizona Thunder. The concert will be held at Metcalf Park at 4 p.m. This concert was rescheduled from May 17, a process that involved meshing the availability of artists and venue. Sounds of Kingman looks forward to having Arizona Thunder for the first time on the stage. The group has been together for about two years, joined by their mutual passion for music. Rancho Santa Fe Interchange approved

KINGMAN – Mayor Jen Miles said Tuesday’s Kingman City Council approval of an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) is a big step forward after years of planning and effort involved with the Rancho Santa Fe Interchange project. She said the IGA with the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) for phase one involves construction of the Interstate 40 interchange and short arterial extensions to the north and south. City Engineer Greg Henry said phase one will stretch interchange arterials about ¼-mile in each direction, including the parkway that will lead to the Kingman Airport Industrial Park. GOLDEN VALLEY – The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Sunday traffic fatality in Golden Valley. Deputies responded at noon to the single-vehicle collision on Estrella Road near McElmo Drive. Agency spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said deputies determined the vehicle had been traveling about 60 miles an hour while northbound on Estrella. “The vehicle traveled through a dip in the road and drifted to the right. the driver then over-corrected to the left, causing it to rotate counter clockwise,” Mortensen said. “The vehicle eventually left the roadway and rolled one time, landing upright.” The driver, Stanton Taylor Edwards, 64, Golden…
