Softball season takes shape

KINGMAN – The Kingman Softball Association (KSA) is taking registration for the summer city league season. City Recreation Coordinator Ryan Fruhwirth said KSA plans to reduce the number of teams but hopes to provide the same number of games in a season that won’t start until late June or early July. Managers can register their teams from 10:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 30 at the Centennial Park crow’s nest where the four main fields are situated, closer to the library. BULLHEAD CITY – The Bullhead City Shop with a Cop, a non-profit organization, has partnered with Desert River Kayak for a kayaking day trip on Sunday, June 28. COVID-19 update: 17 new cases, two deaths

MOHAVE COUNTY – Late Wednesday afternoon, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified of seventeen new COVID-19 confirmed positive cases.  Eleven of them are in the Bullhead City service area; three are in the Kingman area; three are in the Lake Havasu City area. There are also two deaths. Some of these cases are linked to a long term care facility. WIKIEUP – Two people were killed in a single-vehicle traffic accident in south Mohave County early Thursday. Department of Public Safety Troopers responded just after 1:00 a.m. to the incident about 15 miles south of Wikieup. DPS said the vehicle left the highway and rolled. Both the driver and passenger were dead at the scene. Further details were initially unavailable and an accident investigation continues.
