Gannuscio vies for Mohave County Sheriff seat

MOHAVE COUNTY – North Kingman rancher and businessman Mike Gannuscio wants to return to the Mohave County Sheriff’s office to lead the department in a new direction. Gannuscio is challenging re-election seeking Sheriff Doug Schuster in the upcoming republican primary election. Gannuscio was an equipment mechanic, fabricator and welder when he moved from California to Arizona in 2001 to help his parents run their business in Meadview. Gannuscio joined the sheriff’s office as a deputy in 2006. “It was a very satisfying experience until I got hurt on the job and wasn’t able to be on patrol anymore,” he said….

Mission Bank pays it forward with annual school supply drive

MOHAVE COUNTY – Mission Bank is hosting its 18th Annual School Supply Drive. Usually, donors are encouraged to drop off needed school supplies and/or financial donations to Mission Bank branches throughout Mohave County, where they are gathered and distributed to needy area families. This year, Mission Bank will not be soliciting donations, but is funding the entire project. Teen hiker dies after succumbing to heat

LAKE HAVASU CITY – A 14-year-old girl died after running out of water and suffering severe heat-related illness while hiking with family members in Lake Havasu City. Fire Department personnel responded at 10:53 a.m. Sunday after learning a teenager was in distress. The victim who was located about 100 yards from the SARA Park Trailhead was rushed to Havasu Regional Medical Center. Fire Department spokeswoman Terrie Haas said did not know and is not at liberty to indicate how much time transpired before the girl died.
