COVID-19 update: 45 new cases, two deaths

MOHAVE COUNTY – Late Thursday afternoon, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified of 45 new COVID-19 confirmed cases. Twenty-four of the cases are in the Bullhead City service area. Twenty are in the Lake Havasu City area. One case is in the Kingman area. There are two new deaths reported, both from previous cases.  One is a 60-69 year age range person in the Bullhead City area and one is 80-89 in the Lake Havasu City area. LAKE HAVASU CITY – The U.S. Census Bureau is sending postcards between June 24 and July 3 to all Lake Havasu households where P.O. Boxes are the only mailing address available. The postcards alert households that a census taker may drop off a census invitation soon or visit later to interview them. The Association for Supportive Child Care (ASCC) is providing free virtual training to all child care providers to help minimize the risk of COVID-19 in preschools, child care centers, and home-based settings. KINGMAN – Thanks to generous donations from locally-owned businesses― Preston Investments and Peterson Burge Enterprises― along with individual donations from community members, Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC) will conduct a local epidemiologic study of COVID-19 later this summer.  The study will involve several thousand community members who volunteer to participate in the effort. They will be given free antibody testing to determine if they previously had COVID-19. They will also be asked to complete a detailed questionnaire about their exposure history.
