MOHAVE COUNTY – Split votes on coronavirus mask mandates netted different results in Bullhead City and Kingman Tuesday. The Bullhead City council voted 4-3 to lift the Colorado River community’s face-covering requirement Wednesday. A 2.5-hour-long town hall style debate occurred at the Kingman Council meeting. The discussion reflected the sharp divisiveness of mask policy and other COVID-19 measures and restrictions. MOHAVE VALLEY –  Mosquito surveillance conducted this past week in Mohave Valley by the Mohave County Environmental Health Division (MCEHD) revealed the following locations that met the protocol to conduct fogging. The MCEHD uses the CDC’s recommended matrix as a guide on when to fog. FOGGING: Adult mosquito control application will begin this Friday, September 18 around 8:00 pm, weather permitting. LAKE HAVASU CITY –The Lake Havasu City Parks and Recreation Department has scheduled the closure of the Site Six launch ramp, fishing pier and surrounding area, on Thursday, September 17 from 6 a.m. until noon to perform underwater maintenance on the fishing pier. This date is subject to change due to weather or other factors. It will be necessary for residents to use alternate facilities. By performing routine preventive maintenance, we extend the life of the facility and prevent longer and more expensive closures and repairs.

MOHAVE COUNTY – Whether masks and an emergency declaration are necessary to protect against spread of COVID-19 were questions explored during Monday’s meeting of the Mohave County Board of Supervisors.
