GRAND CANYON – Paleontological research has confirmed a series of recently discovered fossils tracks are the oldest recorded tracks of their kind to date within Grand Canyon National Park. In 2016, Norwegian geology professor, Allan Krill, was hiking with his students when he made a surprising discovery. Lying next to the trail, in plain view of the many hikers, was a boulder containing conspicuous fossil footprints. Krill was intrigued, and he sent a photo to his colleague, Stephen Rowland, a paleontologist at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave Community College and Phoenix Truck Driving School have partnered up to bring the opportunity of obtaining a Commercial Driver’s License to Mohave County. Residents of the tristate region who are interested in getting paid to drive local routes, long hauls or traveling across the country can sign up for the course that can be completed in as little as four-weeks.  MCC and Phoenix Truck Driving School held a ribbon cutting at the Kingman campus Tuesday. MOHAVE COUNTY – “Confusing” was a word often repeated Thursday as Mohave County Supervisors spent another hour continuing their multiple meeting debate over coronavirus data, and how and when it should be reported. The dizzying discussion resulted in votes to issue the daily fact sheet and press release at the same time each evening, and that 5:00 p.m. would be the cutoff point for 24-hour reporting periods, rather than noon.  Chairman Jean Bishop questioned why the board essentially approved one motion it already passed earlier this month. LAUGHLIN, Nev. – The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) announces a dozen crash-related roadway pavement and barrier rail repairs along the Laughlin Highway (State Route 163) west of Casino Drive in Laughlin. The $200,000 project also calls for upgrades along State Route 165 (Nelson Road) at U.S. Highway 95 in Clark County. Gault Development LLC is the general contractor. Crews will be working from 6 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. daily, Monday through Friday, starting August 25.
