Masks still mandatory in city government buildings

KINGMAN – The Kingman City Council voted to end the mask mandate, Tuesday evening at the regularly scheduled City Council meeting; however local businesses can still require face coverings due to their individual store policies. Kingman City Government buildings will still require the use of face coverings in buildings. The Kingman City Council hopes the community will still respect those who choose to wear masks, and those businesses that post signs to require face coverings. Mask mandate ends

KINGMAN – The Kingman City Council voted 4-3 to repeal the mask mandate following 1:45 minute discussion during Tuesday’s meeting. Deana Nelson’s motion to rescind the mandate was supported by fellow council members SueAnn Mello Keener and Ken Watkins and Vice Mayor Travis Lingenfelter. Mayor Jen Miles and council members David Wayt and Jamie Scott Stehly were in the minority. LHCPD awarded Governor’s Office of Highway Safety Grant

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Lake Havasu City Police Department was awarded a $20,000 grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) for conducting increased traffic enforcement operations. This will be for the 2020-2021 federal fiscal year, which runs from October 1, 2020 to September 30, 2021. This Selective Traffic Enforcement Program, or S.T.E.P. Grant will provide the Lake Havasu City Police Department the ability to increase traffic enforcement capabilities by assigning personnel on overtime to concentrate on speed enforcement activities and aggressive driving.
