WIKIEUP – The Wikieup Trading Post has been destroyed. The commercial structure along U.S. 93 that included a jewelry store and a convenience market was gutted by fire overnight. Witness Savannah Cox said Wikieup residents are thankful that no one was injured and that fuel tanks at the business did not explode. Dave Hawkins

MOHAVE COUNTY – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has conveyed approximately 141 acres of public land located adjacent to the Colorado City Airport to the Town of Colorado City, for airport use. The move supports compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) airport safety and design standards, as portions of the airport safety and fly-over zones are located on the conveyed lands. KINGMAN – Due to an internet and cell outage, the Kingman City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday May 18, was canceled. Agenda items will be postponed to future meetings. At 4:22 p.m. on May 18, units from the Kingman Fire Department (KFD) and Northern Arizona Fire District (NAFD) were dispatched for a powerline down, followed by a call for a brushfire in the same area, and then upgraded to a commercial structure fire. The total response was four engines; two from each agency. Once on scene on scene, advising of a tarp in the powerline with brushfire threatening a nearby business…
