KINGMAN – Substantial progress is reported as a consultant conducts the Dross Site Remediation clean-up of a 15-acre site at the Kingman Airport. The smelting of 5,700 aircraft and burial of the aluminum waste product decades ago has resulted in a churning underground soup bubbling up and resulting in uneven surface. St. Vincent dePaul is a voluntary organization whose core values are to service people in need of clothing, employment, and food. For centuries, St. Vincent dePaul has helped millions who are experiencing poverty become self-sufficient.  In its annual tradition to honor, support and celebrate Arizona’s educators, Fiesta Bowl Charities has granted 500 teachers–including 16 Mohave County teachers–with $2,500 each during the Palo Verde Fiesta Bowl Charities Wishes for Teachers Draft Day presented by SRP, for a total of $1.25 million.  In its eighth year, the Palo Verde Fiesta Bowl Charities Wishes for Teachers program increased its giving by 25% to Arizona K-12 public and charter schoolteachers. The funding will positively impact more than 220,000 students across 73 cities and towns statewide, with 368 different schools receiving grant awards. LAKE HAVASU CITY – Lake Havasu City Public Works Department, Engineering Division announces the closure of El Dorado Ave. at Dolphin Dr. and the wash crossing to thru traffic. Starting November 27, 2023, through late summer of 2024, for wash crossing improvements and flood safety.
