Rainbow Girls hosted student assistance fundraiser

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls in Arizona is empowering the young women of the Lake Havasu community.  Last week, the nonprofit group hosted a charitable Bunco Fundraiser.  The event took place on Monday May 13th at 6pm at the Aquatic Center.The history of this youth service organization dates all the way back to 1922 with Reverend W. The live musical performance will be by international reggae artist Iya Ingi & the Hierarchy Band. The Bash will be held at Beale Celebrations, 201 N. Carpenter named to Dean’s List

Alexis Carpenter of Fort Mohave was named to the University of Evansville Dean’s List for the Spring 2024 semester. Students at UE are named to the Dean’s List every fall and spring semester. To merit the honor of being placed on the Dean’s List, a student must have carried a full academic load of 12 hours or more and have earned a grade point average of 3.5 or above.

42 kids flown at local airport event

KINGMAN – On Saturday, May 18 the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 765 held their annual Young Eagles event at the Kingman airport. In total four pilots with a like number of aircraft gave 42 kids from ages 8 to 17 a free airplane ride during the nearly five hour long event. Despite it being a workday, this write was able to get to the event and meet up with some of the participants. First was Dave Amspoker, vice president and Young Eagle coordinator for Chapter 765.
