FOUNTAIN HILLS – A human-caused wildfire on the 4th of July threatened a number of residences in the community of Fountain Hills, about 10 miles north of Kingman. The Northern Arizona Fire District (NAFD) said the “Golden Fire” was reported at about 2:45 p.m.
LAKE HAVASU CITY – The heat wave apparently claimed the life of an infant on Lake Havasu. The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) reports a four-month-old child who suffered a heat-related illness was transported from a boat to Havasu Regional Medical Center at 5:10 p.m. on Friday, July 5.
KINGMAN- July’s “Party in the U.S.A” First Friday was a great way to start off this year’s Fourth of July weekend. Activities for all ages were available; bars were open to adults, water slides and mini games were set up for the kids, and even activities like karaoke.

Year-long closure of Clack Canyon Road begins July 16
The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers that construction crews will be placing temporary traffic-control barriers on US 93 west of Kingman during the week of July 8, as work gets underway on the new I-40/US 93 West Kingman Traffic Interchange project.
