Pickleball Club members make it a lifestyle

KINGMAN – The Kingman Pickleball Club (KPC) is thriving. Members used a small space along Beale St. during First Friday last weekend to demonstrate and offer the public a glimpse of a sport that continues gaining popularity all across America.
“It’s an addiction,” said KPC member Blessie Potokar. “Once you get into pickleball, that’s it. I love the game. It’s good for your health. Everyday this is my workout.”

Silver Copper Crossing opens

BULLHEAD CITY – Silver Copper Crossing officially opened Friday, June 7, and links Arizona and Nevada just eight miles south of Bullhead City. The $60.6 million project began in November 2021, and is the third bridge linking Bullhead City and Laughlin, Nev. It spans 724 feet and sits 35 feet above the Colorado River.

Festivities began at 9 a.m. with free donuts and snow cones, followed by a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. officiated by Bullhead City Mayor Steve D’Amico and Nevad Commissioner Michael Naft. Festivities soon moved to the Anderson Fieldhouse in Bullhead City, which sported vendors and live music throughout the day.

Beale Street is complete: June First Friday proved it

KINGMAN – Beale Street has a new look after a year of construction and support from the community and hundreds, if not thousands, came out to enjoy the look, feel and fun.
Friday’s celebration could’ve quite been the biggest First Friday event since its inception. Beale Street was closed from 2 p.m. until about 10 p.m. from Second to Sixth Street along the revitalized road and sidewalks to allow the businesses, vendors and citizens to participate in the revelry.
