MOHAVE COUNTY – Students are back on campus! Mohave Community College started its fall semester Monday, Aug. 19 on all campuses with students returning to finish their degrees or certificates. The College is also welcoming new students who have decided to start their educational journey as an MCC Bighorn.
Enrollment is up by roughly 16% with over 4,500 students taking classes across all campuses and online.
BULLHEAD CITY – Mayor Cal Sheehy announces Lake Havasu City is illuminating the London Bridge in red, white, and blue lights Monday night, August 26, to honor the anniversary of the loss of thirteen U.S. service members and other victims killed in the 2021 terrorist attack in Kabul, Afghanistan.
LAKE HAVASU CITY – Some of the best DJs are located right here in Lake Havasu City. Scott Clinton, also known as “DJ King,”embraced his love of music since he was a child. Originally from Southern California, DJ King remembers that his family members either sang or played instruments.
He began DJing in the 1990s and has been going strong ever since. His favorite style of music ranges from pop, country, and dance. Two other DJS worth exploring are Matt (Matty B) and Lisa Bristlim.
LAKE HAVASU CITY – A temporary road closure of McCulloch Boulevard is required for Public Works Infrastructure Improvements. In an effort to reduce the impact to local businesses and motorist, contractors will be working at night to improve the water system.
A woman’s right to choose to have an abortion has been a well-trodden debate for decades now and most people, male and female, no doubt, have a firmly established view. One is either for it or against it. No matter what, the conversation is not going away.
From a religious viewpoint, nearly all abortions are an anathema to scripture and God.
KINGMAN – The Mohave County Fair will be held Thursday through Sunday, Sept. 12 – 15 at the county fairgrounds, 2600 Fairgrounds Blvd. Fair admission gates prices are $6 for veterans, first responders and seniors 65 and older with ID; $12 for adults; $6 for children ages five to 12; free for children four and under with an accompanying adult.
Expo hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
