Kingman Fire Chief Jake Rhoades and his leadership team may take on the responsibility of providing management oversight of the Northern Arizona Consolidated Fire District (NACFD). The Kingman City Council voted Tuesday to direct staff to negotiate with the fire district to develop a pilot program intergovernmental agreement to possibly bring NACFD under Rhoades’ administrative umbrella. “Basically what you’re doing is you’re almost outsourcing the Chief’s professional skill set to them.  It was perfect weather gracing the corner of Oak Street and Fourth Street outside a city building where about 50 community members gathered for The National Day of Prayer (NDP) which occurs yearly on the first Thursday of May. Pastor Peter Urnst from Family Bible Church and Pastor Grif Vautier, emeritus from Kingman Presbyterian Church headed up the NDP. Lake Havasu City congratulates the Havasu Youth Advisory Council (HYAC) for winning 1st place in the 2018-19 DemocraSeed competition. DemocraSeed is a Civic Health Initiative of the Center for the Future of Arizona (CFA) in partnership with Arizona State University’s Public Service Academy (PSA) that seeks to increase interest in civic engagement, creative problem solving, and entrepreneurship among students participating in city and tribal youth councils throughout Arizona.
