Milling and paving of Andy Devine Avenue from Stockton Hill Road to Michael Street (before the I-40 Interchange), will begin Monday, May 13 through Thursday, June 6. Life jacket exchange events kick off Safe Boating Week on Saturday, May 18

Safe Boating Week is on the horizon and the Arizona Game and Fish Department will kick off the national campaign locally with multiple life jacket exchange events at area lakes Saturday, May 18. Now in its 11th year, the Life Jacket Exchange program allows people with an old, worn out life jacket to swap it for a new one (while supplies last). The Goldstrike and White Rock Canyon trails located within Lake Mead National Recreation Area will close for the season May 15 through Sept. 30. Park management implemented seasonal closures on these trails in 2014 after public safety incidents significantly increased. Goldstrike Canyon is a strenuous hike, requiring bouldering and climbing. Duarte faces up to 2.5 years for voyeurism

Using a camera to peer up a woman’s dress for purpose of personal stimulation could bring a prison term for a Mohave Valley man. Ronald Duarte, 36, pleaded guilty Friday to one count of voyeurism. Prosecutor Amanda Claerhout said a woman who was in the hair product aisle at the Highway 95 Walmart in Fort Mohave last September observed a man on his knees pointing a camera up and underneath a dress.
