The Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Lake Havasu Field Office has completed a four-month construction project to replace a failing retaining wall at Bullfrog Day-Use Recreation Area. The recreation area will be available for public use starting Friday, April 5. The infrastructure improvement project addressed structural concerns with the retaining wall, which was built in 1968 and was failing. The Kathryne Heidenreich Adult Center (KHAC) will host a Sock Hop on Saturday, April 27 from 1 to 3 p.m. Entry is $5 per person. All are welcome and encouraged to make the scene appropriate with period clothing (not mandatory) from the 1950s and 1960s. Music will be provided by Moonlight Savoy and will feature period tunes. Traditional soda fountain fare will be available for purchase including hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, fruit, desserts, and beverages.
