Volunteer Posse, boating safety officers awarded

On Tuesday, March 26, Mohave County Sheriff’s Office held its annual Volunteer Posse and Boating Safety Officer Award Banquet. At this event, they honored and celebrated the wonderful individuals that make the volunteer force, the folks who give their time and commitment out of the goodness of their hearts. Precous Sarah’s House quilt is missing

The mother of an infant who was murdered in Kingman 28 years ago is asking for help in locating a quilt that features the image of her daughter. Tammy Milam said a local woman whose name she cannot recall crafted the quilt with “great care and compassion” in 2000. Squares of the quilt are decorated with local historical buildings and the image of Sarah Milam graces its center. BLM announces Bullfrog Day-Use Recreation Area available for recreation access

The Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Lake Havasu Field Office has completed a four-month construction project to replace a failing retaining wall at Bullfrog Day-Use Recreation Area. The recreation area will be available for public use starting Friday, April 5. The infrastructure improvement project addressed structural concerns with the retaining wall, which was built in 1968 and was failing. Old fashioned Sock Hop is April 27

The Kathryne Heidenreich Adult Center (KHAC) will host a Sock Hop on Saturday, April 27 from 1 to 3 p.m. Entry is $5 per person. All are welcome and encouraged to make the scene appropriate with period clothing (not mandatory) from the 1950s and 1960s. Music will be provided by Moonlight Savoy and will feature period tunes. The Kathryn Heidenreich Adult Center (KHAC) will feature All the King’s Men (1949) at its monthly Movie Night on Friday, April 26 beginning at 6 p.m. A $2 donation is suggested.
