Pawn World has a steady history paralleling beautifully with the ideals of small-town Kingman. Owned by a local family since 1996, Pawn World is nothing short of a familiar and comfortable place to buy or sell.
Rosalba and Jerry Homer, the owners of the two Pawn World shops in Kingman, moved to Kingman in 1996 after marrying and seeking a safe and welcoming place to start a family. Originally from California, Rosalba received the quiet and slow pace of the town, and the town embraced them in return. Jerry had already owned a pawn store in Bullhead City that he closed when they moved to Kingman. Rosalba, on the other hand, knew the retail world, selling clothes at swap meets with her mother. The two decided that they would put their skills together and open a new pawn shop—Pawn World, located at 201 E. Beale St, where Rosalba now manages the store Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. As the business gained speed and was greeted warmly by the town, Rosalba and Jerry opened their second location at 1822 E. Northern Ave., where Jerry now works at his own shop. Today, their son is practicing taking up the business, just as a family-owned store should be passed down from generation to generation.
Rosalba loves the jewelry that makes its way into her shop, but coins and firearms are also their top items to cycle through the store. With the best prices in town and the lowest interest rates in the tri-state area, Rosalba sees many customers and treats them all like family. People bring in all sorts of items to sell, and Rosalba and Jerry always try to make the best deal based on market values.
Besides running a shop, Rosalba and Jerry are involved in the community consistently. Pawn World sponsors many programs, such as school cheerleading and football teams. They also just donated a PA system for the Lee Williams’ baseball team. In her free time, Rosalba serves as Board Director with Venture Club, an organization for women in business to help the lives of women and children in the Kingman community. Pawn World is a great shop ran by a generous family. After Kingman welcomed and helped Pawn World with the success that it has become, Rosalba and Jerry are grateful for their time in town and hope to see customers new and old as their adventures continue in as good of a place as Kingman
