BULLHEAD CITY  – Mohave Electric Cooperative members who purchased Operation Cool Shade trees are reminded to leave Saturday morning’s schedule open. Pickup is 7 a.m.-noon, Saturday, at the Justice Complex parking lot across from the Public Works Department on Alona’s Way. “It’s the only time to pick up the trees,” said Steve Bouman, energy management specialist at MEC. GVFD is responsible for about 180 square miles of the valley, however, does respond out of district when needed and also has out-of-district contracts with Griffith Energy, Unisource Black Mountain Energy and Kingman Energy Corporation, to provide them with fire suppression and emergency medical service (EMS). Mohave Electric Cooperative is providing financial support for an eight-bed veterans’ wing of the Bullhead City Emergency Shelter facility on North Oatman Road. U.S. Rep. Dear Editor, Thank you to Wells Fargo for their generous donation of $437.60 to the Dig It Kingman Community Garden. BULLHEAD CITY – Mohave County School Superintendent Mike File has opted not to fill a vacant seat on the Colorado River Union High School District governing board. The seat will remain open until after the November 2020 election, when a new term begins in January 2021. The CRUHSD board deadlocked in late October when four applicants expressed interest in the seat. Two were tied two-two after being placed in nomination.
