LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Lake Havasu City Fire Department has recognized the Lake Havasu Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) on the installation of their 500th residential Knox box. The residential Knox box is a secure system that offers emergency access to a home for residents that are unable to open the door for responders. The availability of emergency access provides peace of mind and prevents the unnecessary damage that occurs when forcible entry is made. BULLHEAD CITY – Storm-related outages affected over 5,700 Mohave Electric Cooperative (MEC) members in Bullhead City, Fort Mohave, and Mohave Valley Monday afternoon, Sept. 23. MEC became aware of the first of the outages at 1:41 p.m. and crews immediately responded. Power to over 1,600 members was restored by 2:44 p.m. and to approximately 400 more at 3:26 p.m. As storms and high wind continued to impact the area, a probable microburst caused a pole to fall, and a power outage for an additional 3,700 members in Fort Mohave and Mohave Valley at 4:08 p.m. Power was restored safely to…

The proud papa of Kingman’s newest sculpture dubbed “The Guardian” by Jim Rowe (pictured) was delivered in predawn hours last Sunday morning. Roe, a southern California native and Arizona investor has bought numerous properties in old Kingman and was motivated to bring attention to the rehab of the 200 block of Topeka. The Guardian has more than 700 pounds of metal and was created by metal sculptor Martin Gonzalez of Dagget, CA.
