Colorado River Open Invitational Tournament in city for holiday weekend

BULLHEAD CITY – Bullhead City is once again gearing up for a large sports tourism weekend that is expected to have a significant impact on the local economy. The 22st Annual Colorado River Open Invitational Tournament (CRIT) is a three-day tournament that will be held Saturday, February 15 through Monday, February 17. Storage unit burglar takes plea

KINGMAN – A plea agreement has been entered for a Bullhead City storage unit burglar. James Koryta, 46, pleaded guilty to three felony burglary charges during a February 11 hearing at the Mohave County Courthouse. Five other burglary charges and a criminal damage count are dismissed in the deal. Prosecutor Greg McPhillips said Koryta and co-defendant Eric Covell, 27, took property from eight different units at the Storage Stop business in the 3000 block of Highway 95 at the end of last September. Bryan Whitney visited the county elections office last Friday, indicating interest in challenging county attorney Matt Smith. Classroom grants available to educators in MEC service area

BULLHEAD CITY – Teachers across the nation often struggle with tight budgets, making it difficult to accomplish specific tasks or projects. Fortunately, educators at schools in the Mohave Electric Cooperative service area enjoy the benefits of the cooperative model, which includes among its principles a concern for community. Community Medical Services Clinic Manager for Kingman and Lake Havasu City Michelle Valandingham and her associate Ronny Jones spoke at Kingman Route 66 Rotary Club’s February 7 meeting (shown above with club president Karen Brown). Offering treatment for opioid addiction, there are 46 Community Medical Services clinics nationwide including Kingman, which opened September 2019 and Lake Havasu City, open since August 2019.
