MOHAVE COUNTY – A gas-fired power plant operating in south Golden Valley was over-billed more than $200,000 by Mohave County. Public Works Director Steve Latoski said the calculation error was discovered several months ago and that adjustments have been made to ensure proper billing going forward.    The rest of the fix could come Monday when Mohave County Supervisors consider fully reimbursing Griffith Energy $209,121.56. The Mohave County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) has confirmed the 9th positive case of COVID-19 in the Bullhead City service area. The individual, an adult, is being treated in the hospital under strict isolation protocols. Shortly thereafter, the county Department of Public Health confirmed the 10th positive case of COVID-19.  This one is in the Lake Havasu City service area. The individual, an adult, is not hospitalized at this time and recovering at home. MOHAVE COUNTY – The only Mohave County Supervisor who voted in favor of hiring Kingman Vice Mayor Travis Lingenfelter as County Procurement Director has sharply responded to Lingenfelter’s suggestion that the Board had no authority to reject his employment. County Manager Mike Hendrix’ recommendation to hire Lingenfelter at a starting salary of $102,000 was torpedoed by a 4-1 Board vote on March 16.
