WL Nugent Cancer Center uses localized chemotherapy to treat bladder cancer

KINGMAN – Kingman Regional Medical Center’s WL Nugent Cancer Center has begun using a new method to treat certain patients with bladder cancer. The Cancer Center now has the capability to deliver chemotherapy directly to the bladder through a catheter, in a process called intravesicular chemotherapy. Traditionally, patients receive intravenous (IV) chemotherapy – chemotherapy in the whole body through an IV. With the intravesicle method, a liquid chemotherapy drug is injected through a catheter directly into the bladder. Grand Canyon National Park requests river guides, boaters bypass Havasu Canyon

Grand Canyon – Effective immediately, the National Park Service (NPS) is requesting all river trips, both commercial and non-commercial, to voluntarily bypass Havasu Canyon on the Colorado river, located at river mile 157. This request is an effort to minimize the spread of the COVID-19 virus and to further safeguard the Havasupai people and their traditional lands. MOHAVE COUNTY – Late Wednesday afternoon, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified of 101 new COVID-19 confirmed cases. This includes two deaths that are not previously reported cases. One is a 50-59 year age range person in the Bullhead City service area. The other is an 80-89 person in the Kingman area. Sixty-six of the new cases (including the death) are in the Bullhead City area. Twenty-seven cases are in the Lake Havasu City area.
