COVID-19: Case surge documented; resolution postponed

MOHAVE COUNTY – The coronavirus case surge in recent weeks is taxing resources and pushing bed capacity at the four primary hospitals operating in Mohave County. Department of Public Health Director Denise Burley told Mohave County supervisors Monday that a rough average of new cases has been about 1,000 for each of the last three weeks. Burley said one hospital is on cautionary status that may require shipping some patients to facilities outside the county. Bidding for the Arizona State Land Department sale took place near the steps of the Mohave County Courthouse in Kingman. BULLHEAD CITY – Thanks to the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) 2021 Grant, the Bullhead City Police Department will be acquiring new equipment and advanced training for accident investigations. The GOHS Grant awarded $25,159 to purchase 3D accident reconstruction scanning equipment, software and training. “The Police Department’s goal is to make the roadways of Bullhead City as safe as possible,” said Traffic Section Supervisor Sergeant Scott Gillman. “This sophisticated technology and training will bring much needed advancements in our accident reconstruction investigations.” Officers in the Traffic Section and Bureau of Criminal Investigations will receive training on this new equipment…

CRUHSD has board member opening

BULLHEAD CITY – The Colorado River Union High School District (CRUHSD) governing board is accepting applications to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of board member Pat Young, who stepped down in September.  He was first elected in November 2018 and took office in January 2019. A new board member will fill an unexpired term, which runs through December 31, 2022.  Young’s resignation came too late to be placed on last month’s ballot.
