KINGMAN – A renewable energy project involving solar and hydrogen production components will be heard by the Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission this week. The proposed project area involves more than 12,000 acres south of Red Lake, about 20 miles north of Kingman. BULLHEAD CITY – The Bullhead City School District (BCSD) has started an intensive program to improve classroom results and instructional leadership.  The partnership with educational services company Instructional Empowerment (IE) is covered by a $1.25 million bipartisan Congressionally-approved federal grant administered through the office of Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs. KINGMAN – The City Council expects more information from the company proposing a new four-year revenue sharing agreement to place its rental scooters back on the streets of Kingman. Several dozen of the rental scooters were pulled from the community last month following expiration of the initial agreement with Bird Rides, Inc. Bird Executive Kylee Floodman told council members Sept. 5 that the Kingman-placed scooters provided nearly 10,000 rides over some 18 months. MOHAVE COUNTY – The Arizona Department of Water Resources (ADWR) has  announced that applications can now be submitted online for Grandfathered Rights in the Douglas Active Management Area (DAMA) and Irrigation Authorities in the Hualapai Valley Irrigation Non-Expansion Area (HVINA). For the DAMA, applications for Irrigation Grandfathered Rights, Type 1 Non-Irrigation Rights, and Type 2 Non-Irrigation Rights must be submitted by March 1, 2024. There will be no exceptions to this deadline.
