Projects and funding sources are part of the focus of next week’s Kingman City Council work session. City manager Ron Foggin said staff will once again detail Kingman’s five-year capital improvement project list. Cost of the projects grossly exceeds Kingman’s current funding capacity. Foggin said he believes the City should reduce and redraft its project list and make it more realistic if it does not identify new revenue streams. The Colorado River Union High School District (CRUHSD) governing board voted unanimously late Tuesday night to narrow the search for a new school superintendent to two finalists. The two, one from Arizona and one from South Dakota, will return next week for more interviews and community forums.  Todd Flora, an education program specialist with the Arizona Department of Education’s satellite office in Flagstaff, and Timothy Mayclin, superintendent of the Kimball School District in South Dakota, were among five semifinalists interviewed by the board over two nights. Only 48 hours after the TCU and Cal football teams finished an overtime battle in the Cheez-It Bowl, 80,000 square feet of turf had been taken up from the stadium floor. Hash marks, cleat marks, Cheez-It logos and all was loaded onto a dozen flatbed trailers and hauled 200 miles to Bullhead City, Arizona, where it was laid onto a plot of land that the community had spent thousands of dollars and many weeks preparing. Through the rain and sunshine, over 540 participants walked for the cause! The 6TH Annual Connie Davis 5k Walk & Roll was held on Saturday, March 2nd at the Pyramid Canyon day use area of North Reach Heritage Trails. Despite the morning being met with a mild downpour, over 540 participants registered to support the cause!  Shortly after the walk began, the sun came out from behind the clouds. Mohave County Board of Supervisors (BOS) meetings normally held in the Mohave County seat community of Kingman could someday be held in other northwest Arizona municipalities. District 5 Supervisor Ron Gould floated the proposal during Monday’s board meeting. “I think it would be interesting to actually take the Board of Supervisors show on the road, so to speak,” Gould said. Rotating the meetings to other communities, he said, extends citizen observation and participation opportunity to residents who otherwise have at least a 100-mile, round-trip drive to endure.
