Can the GOP move beyond puberty?

Dear Editor,

Trumpist politicians today are like pubescent girls. When girls first come into possession of their curves, they start to realize the power they have to attract the gaze of boys. Some who lack good parental instruction take to believing they won’t need much other than hips and breasts to get what they want out of life.

They lose interest in things that take effort. Ambitious Trump Republicans today have undergone a similar metamorphosis. They have found that a simple commitment to Trump and his claims provides a quick and easy pathway to what they want, whether it be position, power, fame, or financial gain.

Hard work, good faith, and attention to detail are not necessary to get the attention of others. Ironically, this self-selection into the political puberty wing of the party does the electorate a large favor. It shines a bright light on those who are in it for themselves.

The rest of the party have a better chance of being in it for more noble ends, like interest in policy, respect for law, desire to serve, and devotion to truth.
