BULLHEAD CITY — Another man snared in a Bullhead City focused sting operation targeting sex seeking adult predators of minors has been sentenced to the Arizona Department of Corrections. Carlos Calhoun, 50, was given a 3-year prison term during an April 30 hearing conducted by Mohave County Superior Court Judge Lee Jantzen.

Calhoun pleaded guilty to identity theft in two separate cases and to another charge reduced to attempted luring of a minor for sexual exploitation.

Calhoun is one of 9 men arrested in late Jan. in an investigation where men allegedly engaged in electronic communications with officers posing as teenagers that included descriptions of sex acts for payment.

Deputy Mohave County attorney Leah Nelson said Calhoun thought he was arriving to have sex with a 14-year-old boy when he was arrested at an agreed upon meeting place.

Calhoun told Judge Jantzen that he will use prison time for self-betterment.

“I’m going to get my life back on track so I can be there for myself and my family,” Calhoun said.

Judge Jantzen noted Calhoun’s extensive legal history included eleven prior felony convictions before the cases for which he was sentenced. Calhoun will serve lifetime probation following prison.
