Bullhead City men admit guilt in child predator sting operation

Interior of courtroom

KINGMAN — Two Bullhead City men nabbed in a sting operation targeting adult sexual predators of children entered identical plea agreements during back-to-back hearings that Judge Billy Sipe conducted in Kingman on April 14.

Brandon Torres Valerio, 22, and Jesi Rubi, 42, are among 9 men arrested early this year in a multi-agency investigation involving an officer posing as a teenager in sex-seeking electronic communications.

Deputy Mohave County attorney Jacob Chavez told the Court that Valerio was arrested after arriving at an agreed upon location to meet with what he thought would be two female Venezuelan teenagers to pay for sex.

Chavez said Rubi was also arrested after arriving at a meeting point, after electronic communication indicated he believed he was going to pay for sex with a 15-year-old girl.

Valerio and Rubi pleaded guilty to luring a minor for sexual exploitation and attempted child sex trafficking. Both face up to 3.5-years in prison and lifetime probation at separate sentencing hearings scheduled next month.
