
The City of Bullhead City has various Commission and Board seats available for citizens to serve as of July 1, 2019. The City Clerk’s Office is currently accepting applications from citizens interested in volunteering for the following positions.
The Board of Adjustment will have three seats available with two-year terms expiring on June 30, 2021. The Board of Adjustment hears and decides appeals of actions taken by the Zoning Administrator, and meets on an as-needed basis. There is a residency requirement to serve on the Board of Adjustment.
The Building Board of Appeals will have four seats available with terms expiring either on June 30, 2020 or June 30, 2021. The Building Board of Appeals determines the suitability of alternate materials and methods of construction and to provide reasonable interpretation of the International Building Code, and meets infrequently on an as-needed basis.
The Municipal Property Corporation (MPC) will have two seats available with terms expiring on September 30, 2022. The MPC oversees the bond financing of the cost of construction and improvements to municipal properties and facilities, and meets once each year in September.
The Parks and Recreation Commission will have two seats available with two-year terms expiring on June 30, 2021. The Parks and Recreation Commission provides recommendations to the City Council regarding the planning, development, operation and maintenance of city-owned parks and meets on a monthly basis.
The Planning and Zoning Commission will have three seats available with two-year terms expiring on June 30, 2021. The Planning and Zoning Commission provides recommendations to the City Council as to the best present and future use to which land and buildings shall be put within the city, and meets on a monthly basis. There is a residency requirement to serve on the Planning and Zoning Commission.
The Water Resources Advisory Committee (WRAC) has one position available with a two year-term expiring on June 30, 2021. WRAC makes recommendations to the City Council regarding water related issues such as water acquisition or distribution, and meets on an as-needed basis.
To be eligible, an applicant should have a general understanding of the issues addressed by the Commission or Board seat they are applying for.

Appointments are made by the Bullhead City Council. Those submitting applications to the City Clerk prior to June 7, 2019 at 5 p.m. will be considered for appointment at the June 18, 2019 City Council meeting. Applicants are encouraged to attend this meeting.
