BULLHEAD CITY -The City of Bullhead City has various commission and board seats available for citizens serve in the governmental process. The City Clerk’s Office is currently accepting applications from persons interested in volunteering for the following positions:
The Board of Adjustment has one seat available with a partial term expiring on June 30, 2021. The Board of Adjustment hears and decides appeals of actions taken by the Zoning Administrator, and meets on an as-needed basis. There is a residency requirement to serve on the Board of Adjustment.
The Building Board of Appeals has three seats available with terms expiring in 2020 and 2021. The Building Board of Appeals determines the suitability of alternate materials and methods of construction and to provide reasonable interpretation of the International Building Code, and meets infrequently on an as-needed basis.
The Bullhead Area Transit System Commission (BATS) has one seat available with a term expiring on September 30, 2021. The BATS Commission makes recommendations to the City Council regarding the development and maintenance of the City’s public transportation system.
The Municipal Property Corporation (MPC) has one seat available that expires in September 2022. The MPC oversees the bond financing of the cost of construction and improvements to municipal properties and facilities and meets once each year in September.
The Planning and Zoning Commission has two vacant seats with partial terms expiring on June 30, 2021. The Planning and Zoning Commission provides recommendations to the City Council as to the best present and future use to which land and buildings shall be put within the city, and meets on a monthly basis. There is a residency requirement to serve on the Planning and Zoning Commission.
The Franchise License Commission will have two positions with three-year terms open on January 1, 2020, with terms expiring on December 31, 2022. The Franchise License Commission provides recommendations to the City Council concerning policies, rules, and regulations pertaining to the city’s franchise agreements and licenses, and evaluates citizen concerns and suggestions.
To be eligible, an applicant should have a general understanding of the issues addressed by the Commission or Board seat they are applying for.

Appointments are made by the Bullhead City Council. Those submitting applications to the City Clerk will be considered for appointment at a future City Council meeting.
