BCSD schedules parent survey

BULLHEAD CITY – The Bullhead City School District has opened its spring survey for parents and guardians to help improve relationships between families and schools.  Surveys are online and anonymous, and no personally identifying information can be tracked or maintained.

Despite notification and invitations via multiple channels, participation in the semi-annual surveys generally hovers only around the ten percent range.

Created by Panorama Education, and funded by a grant, the survey is designed to help educators use data to improve student outcomes.  It also helps the district find ways to better reach and involve parents and guardians.

BCSD’s survey is online at https://surveys.panoramaed.com/crsk12az/1250509802/surveys and runs through April 3.  It takes less than three minutes to complete the 33 multiple choice questions. Parents with students in more than one BCSD school have the option to complete more than one survey.

“Parental engagement is important on so many levels,” said BCSD director of educational services Jennifer Lott.  “Academic performance, social skills and self-confidence are shown to improve when parents and guardians are involved in a child’s school and schoolwork.  Likewise, that same involvement helps minimize behavior and discipline problems.   We really need to hear from the overwhelming majority of parents who usually sit out the confidential survey.”

Parent surveys are normally conducted once in the fall and once in the spring.  Results will be presented to the public during an upcoming BCSD governing board meeting.
